Manteo native, Freedman Colony and Pea Island descendent, retired in 2017 from the National Park Service, Cape Hatteras Group after 40 years as Historian at Wright Brother's National Memorial and a recipient of the "Order of the Long Leaf Pine". Now an Author, Owner and Aviation Historian of ALOG, LLC(A Legacy of Greatness) and Commissioner for the Town of Manteo.
Director, Joan L. Collins
Retired from the United States Department of Agriculture after 32 years in the Food Safety and Inspection Service. Grew up in Maryland but a Freedman Colony and Pea Island descendent who became a local in 2014.
Treasurer, Tonya L. Collins
Has lived on the Outer Banks since 2000, the wife of Darrell M. Collins and Owner/Broker of Outer Banks Dreams Realty, LLC specializing in first-time home buying, investment homes and affordable housing. Also serves as Managing Partner of ALOG, LLC.
Director, Frank Hester
Manteo native, Freedman Colony and Pea Island descendent who retired from the United States Coast Guard after 20 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer. Settled in Maryland but moved back home to Roanoke Island in 2005. Now works for the National Park Service, Cape Hatteras Group.
Director, Doug E. Stover
Has lived on the Outer Banks since 2000. Retired from the National Park Service, Cape Hatteras Group after 32 years of service as Park Historian and Cultural Resources Manager(his career spanned 5 U.S. Parks and 3 Regions). Now, an Author and serves as a Consultant for the United Nations and World Heritage Sites.
Secretary, Coquetta C. Brooks
Coquetta Laverna C. Brooks was born in Charleston, SC but feels like a native having called Dare County home for over 30 years. She is very active in the community & her Church, Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves as Deaconess, VBS Teacher, Vice President of the Pastor's aide, Vice Chair of the Women's Ministry, President of the welcoming committee, Secretary of Order Of The Eastern Star for 19 years and member of the "Echoes of Heritage". Coquetta is also the Chair person of the Manteo Precinct and recently retired as a Utility Billing Specialist for the Dare County Water Department after 23 years of service.

Special Liaison, RADM Stephen W. Rochon, USCG (Retired)
Retired from the United States Coast Guard after 37 years of service as Commander of the Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic. Former Director of the Executive Residence and White House Chief Usher(2007-2011). Spearheaded the posthumous awarding of the Gold Life Saving Medal to Keeper Richard Etheridge and the all African-American crew of the Pea Island Life-Saving Station.
